PRIVACY
POLICY.
What I collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jake Tlapek (“Jake,” “I,” “me,” or “the Operator”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit jakethewizard.com and related pages (the “Site”). I keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Site and respond to you.
Who I am
The Site is operated by Jake Tlapek, an individual doing business as “The Wizard of Marketing.” If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact me at jake@jakethewizard.com.
Information I collect
Information you give me
When you submit a contact or inquiry form, I collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. If you book a call, the scheduling provider collects the details needed to set up that meeting.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, my hosting provider and embedded services may automatically log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. This is used to keep the Site secure and working, and to understand general traffic patterns. See the Cookie Policy for details on cookies and similar technologies.
How I use your information
- To respond to your messages, inquiries, and booking requests.
- To provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
- To send you information you have requested (for example, replying to your inquiry).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce my Terms & Conditions.
I do not sell your personal information.
Service providers I rely on
I use trusted third parties to operate the Site. These providers process data on my behalf or under their own policies:
- Form handling — Formspree, to receive and deliver form submissions.
- Newsletter & email — Resend, to store newsletter subscribers and send the emails you opt into.
- Scheduling — Calendly, when you book a call.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, to understand how the Site is used.
- Product analytics — Microsoft Clarity, for anonymized heatmaps and session replays of how the Site is used.
- Advertising & measurement — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API, to measure ad performance and reach audiences on Facebook and Instagram (see “Advertising and measurement” below).
- Hosting & delivery — my web host and content-delivery network, which serve the Site and may log technical request data.
- Embedded media — YouTube and TikTok, when video or social content is embedded on a page.
- Fonts & icons — Google Fonts and a CDN for web fonts and icons.
Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy. I encourage you to review the policies of any third-party services you interact with.
Advertising and measurement (Meta Pixel & Conversions API)
I advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use two Meta tools to measure results: the Meta Pixel, which runs in your browser, and the Conversions API, which sends the same events from my server. When you take a key action on the Site — for example submitting a form or starting a booking — I share that event with Meta. To help Meta match the event to an account, I include hashed identifiers (such as a SHA-256 hash of your email address and, where provided, your name), together with technical data such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and Meta’s own cookies (_fbp / _fbc). Each browser and server event carries one shared identifier so the action is counted only once.
This processing happens only with your consent. Outside the EEA and UK it is enabled by default, and you may withdraw consent at any time by selecting Decline on the cookie notice; inside the EEA and UK it stays off until you select Accept. You can also manage how Meta uses your information in your Facebook ad preferences. Meta processes this data under its own Privacy Policy.
Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, I process personal data on the basis of your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), my legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site and responding to you, and where necessary to comply with the law.
Data retention
I keep form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and for my legitimate business records, then delete them when they are no longer needed. You can ask me to delete your information sooner (see below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and delete your personal information and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” I do not sell your personal information for money. I do share limited event data with Meta for advertising measurement, as described in “Advertising and measurement” above; you can opt out at any time by selecting Decline on the cookie notice. To exercise any right, email me at jake@jakethewizard.com and I will respond as required by law.
Third-party links
The Site links to other websites and platforms (such as social media). I am not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me information, contact me and I will delete it.
Security
I use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including HTTPS encryption in transit — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page; your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
